On 11th February 2026, the MBA Second Semester students of Farook Institute of Management Studies (FIMS) organized an Industrial Visit to VKC Group as part of their academic curriculum. The visit was coordinated by Mr. Mohammed Jasir PV and Ms. Navaneetha K with the objective of providing students practical exposure to industrial operations and management practices in the footwear manufacturing sector. The initiative aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-time corporate functioning.
The programme began on campus with an address by the Director, who briefed the students on the objectives and guidelines of the visit. Upon arrival at VKC Group, the team was welcomed by HR Executive Ms. Jisha, who presented a brief introduction to the company and its operations. Students were then guided through three major operational sections of the manufacturing unit, where they observed production processes, quality control systems, and workflow management. The visit also included refreshments followed by an interactive feedback and doubt-clearing session, concluding with a vote of thanks by the student representatives.
The Industrial Visit provided valuable insights into production planning, supply chain management, and organizational practices within a leading footwear manufacturing company. As a step toward continuous improvement, it is proposed to include dedicated sessions on financial and marketing strategies in future visits, implement structured feedback mechanisms to evaluate learning outcomes, and conduct post-visit case study discussions to strengthen practical understanding and analytical skills among students.
