Industry Immersion Initiative – Experiential Learning Visit

The Marketing Club of Farook Institute of Management Studies organized an Industry Immersion Initiative as part of the Sales & Distribution Management course, offering final-year MBA students an experiential learning visit to Decathlon, Calicut. The visit was designed to provide students with firsthand exposure to the operational and marketing strategies of a globally recognized sports retail brand.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to closely observe how Decathlon integrates customer-centric marketing, product positioning, and retail management within its store environment. The session enabled participants to understand key aspects of modern retail operations such as product merchandising, store layout strategies, inventory flow, and customer engagement practices. Store representatives also shared insights on how the brand builds strong consumer relationships through experiential retail and community-driven marketing initiatives.

The initiative aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world business practices. By interacting with industry professionals and observing practical retail operations, students gained valuable insights into how marketing strategies are implemented at the ground level. Such industry exposure plays a significant role in enhancing managerial perspectives and preparing students to adapt to dynamic market environments.
