Core Faculty

At present Dr. Ahamed Riaz is working as the Director (I/C) and Professor at FIMS, Farook College. He is a management faculty and a business professional, with an overall experience of above twenty years in teaching and business management in industries like the chemical industry, Agri-Business, and Banking industry. He has a graduation in Agricultural Science from Kerala Agricultural University, a Master’s, and a Doctorate in Business Management.
Awarded with Junior Research Fellowship by ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research – New Delhi, Govt of India) for Business Management in 2000, he completed his Master’s Degree and Research thesis in 2002 and joined the industry by campus placement. UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) qualified in Business Management. He pursued an FDP from IIM-Kozhikode on “Innovative Approaches in Management Teaching” in 2014 and another FDP from IIM-Bangalore in “Blended MOOCs in Management Education” in 2017.

He has obtained certifications in Strategic Planning from Harvard Business School, in Brand Management from London Business School, in Business Strategy from the University of Illinois, and in Motivation from the University of Michigan.

He has served in various managerial capacities like Cluster Head, Senior Manager, and Territory Manager in companies like Tata Chemicals Ltd, Axis Bank Ltd, MCF Ltd, and Parry India Ltd, at various locations in India like Mumbai, Kanpur, Chennai, Bangalore and Kochi.
After an experience of more than a decade in the industry in various managerial positions, he entered into academics and research by pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Management and took up the faculty position at FIMS, Farook College in the year 2013 with additional responsibility as Head of Academics and Placements. He was appointed as the Deputy Director of the institute in 2017 and Director(I/C) in 2022. He was the key person behind corporate relations for excellent placement records and international MOU of FIMS with Saxion University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands. He also led the digital campus initiative by an MOU with Great Learning Academy and enabled the association with Coursera Platform for international certifications for students.

He is also a faculty for Management Development Programs (MDP) for various organizations like Indian Postal Department, Central Warehousing Corporation, Multi Commodity Exchange, Fire & Rescue Department, and Institute for Management in Government apart from handling sessions in various B-Schools. Published articles and research papers in National and International Journals on topics related to Marketing Management, Service Marketing, and Banking & Financial Services. Presented papers and participated as Resource Person for various National and International Seminars on Financial Inclusion, E-Commerce, and Marketing Management.

He is also a business consultant in the area of Business Strategy, Marketing Strategy, Brand Management, and Financial Strategies for corporates and startups. He is part of the advisory board of several business firms.

After completing schooling at St.Joseph’s HSS Jabalpur (M.P), she completed her MCom from the Department of Commerce and Management Studies, Calicut University, as the Department topper. After a brief stint in the Finance department of Baby Marine Exports Calicut, she took an MBA in Financial Services from Bharathiar University. She qualified UGC-NET both in Management and Commerce. She has completed Ph.D. from Calicut University under the guidance of Dr.P.Mohan, former Pro-Vice-Chancellor Calicut University. She also holds a B.Ed degree and has qualified SET Her teaching experience of 19 years includes finance faculty positions at Institute of Chartered Financial Analyst of India (ICFAI), Presidency Business School Bangalore besides the present assignment as Faculty at FIMS Calicut for the past 10 years.
She is actively involved in presenting and publishing papers and has published her works in Abhigyaan, Professional Banker, International Journal Research Explorer, Marketing Mastermind, etc. Her paper was one of the 125 papers accepted from 900 papers received for presentation at the 6th PAN-IIM World Conference Management Conference 2018 held at IIM-Bangaluru. She has also presented a paper at the Management Doctoral Colloquium 2019 at IIT Kharagpur.
A certified resource person of the Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI), she has conducted more than 50 financial literacy workshops of SEBI for working professionals, housewives, and college and school students. She is also a regular resource person at various UGC sponsored national workshops conducted by Govt and aided colleges affiliated to Calicut and Kannur University like Madappalli Govt College, SARBTM Govt College Koyilandy, St. Aloysius College Thrissur, NAM Kallikandy, etc.

Prof. Rajesh Janardhanan Associate Professor in Finance has CA from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, MBA (Finance & HR) from DC School of Management & Technology Vagamon (MG University), and M.Com (Finance) from the University of Kerala. Has more than 25 years of experience in Finance & Audit field with leading Chartered Accountancy firms, Tax Consultancy firms and MNCs in India; of which 16 years of teaching experience as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in reputed B-Schools in India. Industry experience constitutes the roles as Internal Auditor of Tourism Department, Republic of Maldives and Rubber Board-Kottayam and Assistant HR Manager – (Recruiting) in MICO-BOSCH- Bangalore.

He had presented various papers in many International and National level conferences at various IIM’s and published research articles in ISSN, ISBN, e-journals like EBSCO and IIM International proceedings. His research paper titled “A study on the patterns of Corporate Governance and the position of Indian companies in the quest for CG” among Indian Corporate Listed in NIFTY and SENSEX; presented at IIM Calcutta, during the year 2009 was selected as one of the best three research papers presented and published for their First Annual International Finance Conference- “On Financial Regulation and Corporate Governance”. Another research work titled “An exploration into Environmental Sustainability issues in God’s Own Country” presented and published paper at IIM Shillong for their Second Annual International Conference on “Sustainability- SUSCON 2011: People Planet and Prosperity”, is included in the list of best 10 papers published for the year 2011 by St. Gallen, Switzerland.

His latest research Paper titled, “Exploring into the New Dimensions of David Durand’s Capital Structure Theories and its reverse effectiveness” has been awarded First prize and Merit certificate along with cash award for the Best Finance Research paper presented at Dr. D.Y. Patil Institute of Management Studies for their “Annual International Conference on Leadership, Governance and Strategic Management” held on February 2nd& 3rd of 2018. Undergone various training programs, workshops, FDPs and MDP’s conducted by MNC’s like Bosch, Germany, IIM’s and International organizations like UNIDO. Had Invented and practiced Simulation type games in Accounting and Finance with the name “Finopoly” and “Business Portfolio Dynamics” for which he had applied for registered Trademark and Patent with Mattel Inc. USA.

Dr. P V Joseph has more than 15 years of teaching experience in various management subjects in addition to 5 years of industrial experience in the area of Sales and Marketing. He holds a first-class M B A degree from Shivaji University Kolhapur, specialized in the area of Marketing and HR Management. He received the M. Phil degree in Management from Madurai Kamaraj University and also holds a PG Diploma in International Business Management (PGDIM), with Honors from Mohawk College Hamilton, Canada. Joseph is UGC – NET (Management) qualified and was awarded Ph.D. in Management by Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
Before joining FIMS, Joseph worked with Malik Deenar Institute of Management Studies Kasaragodu, Institute of Technology Mayyil, and Srinivas Institute of Management Studies, Mangalore. He has also worked with Fibre Foam Pvt Ltd Kannur and Premier Footwear Products Calicut as the Manager (Sales). Joseph’s overseas industrial exposure includes leading multinational company Cadbury Trebor Alln Inc. Hamilton, Canada, Canada Post, and Canada bread, Hamilton. He has attended several National and International seminars and published a few articles in internationally refereed management journals. He is with FIMS since January 2013 and presently handling courses on Marketing Management and Business Environment.

Dr. Sujith Sebastian, Assistant Professor has been working with FIMS from August 2013 onwards. He holds a first-class MBA regular degree from D.C School of Management and Technology, Vagamon, and specialized in the area of Marketing and Human Resource Management.
Apart from teaching, he is also holding the responsibility of the admission department of FIMS.
He started his career in “MALAYALA MANORAMA” circulation department at the managerial level. Then he moved to“ HDFC life” as a sales manager. After having six years of industry experience stepped into management education. He worked with Nehru Group of Institutions, Kerala as an assistant professor for two and a half years.
Dr. Sujith has presented and published various articles and papers in reputed international and national level journals.
He has completed Ph.D. from Bharathiyar university on a study related to social cause advertisements.
He is thoroughly enjoying following contemporary marketing and branding practices, enthusiastic in tracing the advertisement dynamics of various brands and he also makes an effort to analyze the unconventional marketing communications of various brands. He motivates students to enhance their creative contribution in various management functions and extracts results.

Prof. Arun Antony, a post-graduate in Business Administration from SCMS School of Technology and Management, Cochin, and an Electronics and Communication Engineering graduate from Mar Athanasius College of Engineering, Kothamangalam. He is a qualified UGC-NET for Lectureship in Management. He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies in the field of Service Operations Management from Kerala University of Fisheries & Ocean Studies, Cochin.
He has seven years of teaching and four years of industrial experience. His area of interest includes Services Marketing, Movie & Sports Marketing, Digital Marketing, and Learning & Development. He has published articles in national/international journals and conference proceedings.
He holds a versatile training exposure and experience in both academic and corporate training and has conducted more than 1000 hours of training in different domains. He conducts an exclusive theatre-blended workshop, ‘Corporate Theatre’ for students and professionals. He attended International Leadership training for youth volunteers in Bangkok, Thailand during June-July 2011. As a professional trainer he has associated with Malayala Manorama, Ark Power Controls Pvt. Ltd., Mangalam College of Engineering, College of Engineering- Adoor, KMEA Engineering College,SNGIST, Saint Gits Engineering College, Caarmel Engineering College, AWH Engineering College, Jai Bharath Engineering College, etc. Apart from professional activities, he is a blogger and a visual storyteller.

Arun Velayudhan is a faculty member for Management with teaching experience of close to 15 years. Having spent his time with diverse organizations in the field of Education, Consulting, Instructional Content Development, and Learning, he joined FIMS in the year 2015.

Mr.Shabad M K is having more than 12 years of teaching experience in different colleges in the state of Kerala, Currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) in the area of Agri-Business Management. He holds a first-class MBA degree from Al-Ameen Institute of Management Studies, Bangalore (Bangalore University) specialized in Financial Management and Marketing. He also obtained a Post Graduate Degree in Economics (MA Economics) from Madurai Kamaraj University. He is qualified UGC NET for Lectureship in Management and has done one year Higher Diploma in Co-operation and Business Management (HDC& BM) under state co-operative union, Kerala.
Before joining the FIMS family, he has served as the Head of the MBA program at KMCT College of Engineering Calicut. He is a university-approved research guide for the MBA Program of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). He is deputed as the valuation camp chairman of the MBA Program at APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University (KTU). He has attended several FDP and training programs at IIM Calicut, XIME Cochin, CET Trivandrum, etc.

Mr. Shiyas K J holds an MBA degree from the University of Calicut. He is a UGC-NET accredited management academician and currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the area of Organizational Behavior from Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies.
Having 13 years of professional exposure in the industry and academia joined Farook Institute of Management Studies in 2021. His teaching interest is in Organizational Behavior, Strategic Management, and has a research interest in Industrial Psychology.

Dr. Vinu V G graduated from Cochin University of Science and Technology and after working as a Service Engineer at Philips Medical Systems for three years, he took MBA with a specialization in Finance and Marketing from Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore. He then worked as a Senior consultant at Forexserve Treasury consultancy, Mumbai for one year and thereafter started his teaching career, he has been teaching Quantitative Techniques, Management Science, Finance Management, Investment Management, Financial Derivatives, Consumer Behavior, and Brand Management for over 14 years.

He has qualified UGC-NET for Lectureship in Management, and he has received PhD from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore for his research on the topic “A study on Employee productivity with reference to Small and Medium scale Steel manufacturing companies in Kanjikode, Palakkad district, Kerala” under the guidance of Dr. A Oliver Bright.

Dr. Vinu V G has published his research writings on Productivity analysis, credit analysis, and crisis management in professional journals including the International Journal for Enterprise Network Management, ZENITH International Journal of Business Economics & Management Research…etc.

Leena M B, is a post graduate in Business Administration specialized in the area of Human Resource & Marketing Management. She has completed her graduation programme in Business Administration from SNGS Govt. College, Pattambi.
Before joining FIMS family, she had 8 years of Professional Experience of working with various IT companies as Human Resource Generalist & is an accomplished and qualified Talent Acquisition Specialist.
As a faculty in FIMS she covers courses in the areas of HR Planning & Development, Management Training & Development, Business Ethics. Apart from teaching, she is also holding the responsibility of the admission department of FIMS.

Prof. Shyama M is working as an Assistant professor in FIMS. She is a post-graduate in Business Administration, specialized in Finance and Marketing from Calicut University. She has completed her graduation in Business administration from Providence women’s college Calicut. She has qualified UGC-NET for Lectureship in Management. Before joining the institute, she worked as Academic associate in Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode and Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. During that period, she has conducted research interviews and was actively involved in research works and has done publication for National trust, Department of empowerment of people with disabilities.
She has also worked as Employability Skills trainer in Government Industrial Training Institute, Thiruvambady. She has undergone work training in Entrepreneurial Mindset Programme. She has completed certification course by IIT Kharagpur on “Enhancing soft skills & personality” and “Research Writing”.
