Admissions to the MBA program at FIMS are based on a combination of factors to ensure that the institute enrolls highly qualified and motivated candidates. The process includes:
Entrance Exam: Candidates must appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) or Management Aptitude Test (MAT), which evaluate quantitative, verbal, and logical reasoning abilities. A valid score in either of these tests is a prerequisite for admission.
Group Discussion: Shortlisted candidates are invited to participate in a group discussion, which assesses their communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and teamwork.
Personal Interview: The personal interview round allows the FIMS admission panel to evaluate candidates on their aptitude for management, interpersonal skills, and motivation to join the program.
Academic Record: Candidates’ past academic performance, including their marks in the 10th, 12th, and undergraduate levels, are also considered during the selection process.
Work Experience: While not mandatory, relevant work experience may provide an edge to candidates in the admission process.
Candidates seeking admission to the MBA degree course should have passed any degree of the University of Calicut (including degree programmes of SDE, University of Calicut) or of any other University or institute or institution recognized by the UGC or AICTE. Programmes of other Universities or institutions shall be in 10+ 2+ 3 pattern (or 10+ 2+ 4) under regular stream. In all the cases, the student should have passed the bachelor degree examination with not less than 50 % marks in aggregate including the marks of languages if any (without approximation, that is, 49.9999 % is not eligible since it is less than 50%), to be eligible for admission. However, SC/ST, OBC, and other eligible communities shall be given relaxation as per University rules.
FIMS offers scholarships and financial aid to deserving candidates based on their academic achievements, financial need, and extracurricular accomplishments. The institute encourages students to explore these opportunities to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder their pursuit of quality management education.
