Farook Institute of Management Studies (FIMS), Farook College, Calicut, successfully organized a Two-Day Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “AI-Enabled Teaching for Academic Excellence” on 14th and 15th March 2026. The programme aimed to equip faculty members with practical knowledge and skills to effectively integrate Artificial Intelligence tools into modern teaching and learning practices.
The sessions were handled by Afzal Mohammed, Google Certified Innovator and School Innovation Ambassador to the Government of India, who served as the resource person for the programme. Through interactive demonstrations and practical insights, the sessions introduced participants to various AI-powered tools that can enhance teaching efficiency, content creation, classroom engagement, and academic productivity across disciplines.
Faculty members from different institutions participated in the programme and explored innovative approaches to incorporate AI technologies in higher education. The FDP also provided participants with the opportunity to work towards becoming Gemini Certified Faculty, enabling them to stay updated with emerging digital teaching practices.
The programme concluded with active discussions and positive feedback from participants, reflecting the growing importance of AI-driven pedagogy in higher education. The initiative reaffirmed FIMS’s commitment to promoting academic innovation, faculty capacity building, and technology-enabled learning.
