Farook Institute of Management Studies (FIMS), Farook College, Calicut, successfully organized a Two-Day Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “AI-Enabled Teaching for Academic Excellence” on 14th and 15th March 2026. The programme aimed to equip faculty members with practical knowledge and skills to effectively integrate Artificial Intelligence tools into modern teaching and learning practices.
The sessions were handled by Afzal Mohammed, Google Certified Innovator and School Innovation Ambassador to the Government of India, who served as the resource person for the programme. Through interactive demonstrations and practical insights, the sessions introduced participants to various AI-powered tools that can enhance teaching efficiency, content creation, classroom engagement, and academic productivity across disciplines.
On 23rd May 2025, Farook Institute of Management Studies (FIMS) organized a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Higher Education Quality Frameworks at the MDP Hall, featuring insights from Dr. Sujata Shankaran, Dr. Ahmad Riaz, and Prof. E.P. Imbichikoya. The session covered NAAC, NBA accreditation, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), emphasizing practical applications for academic excellence. Participants appreciated the interactive discussions, and the event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sujith Sebastian, highlighting FIMS’ commitment to fostering quality education and future initiatives in institutional development.
FIMS organized one day Faculty Development Program on Contemporary Pedagogies in Teaching Commerce and Management on 30th November 2015 which was attended by 82 participants. FDP was inaugurated by Dr. Jebamalai Vinanchiarachi (Senior Economist and Former Principal Advisor to the Director, United Nations Industrial Development Organisation) , Dr. Saji Gopinath and Dr. Anandakuttan B Unnithan(IIM-K) were the other resource persons. Ms. Sujata Shankaran coordinated the FDP.
